Learn to meditate and create a habit that will benefit your life in so many ways. Improve your focus, steady your mind and better deal with stress. I will teach you the meditation technique of shamatha with a simple focus on the breath. Receive daily meditation instruction to help guide you in this process. Explore the benefits of meditation and how to handle common challenges to cultivating this daily habit.
1. Receive short meditation instruction and overview for the first five days.
2. Then move into two weeks of daily guided meditations (10 minutes in length) to help you build your practice.
3. Declare your intentions to continue your practice!

Welcome! I've been working with low income, first generation and underrepresented college students in their journey to graduate school for over a decade. After observing high levels of stress students endure, as well as the often times convoluted nature of academia, I am convinced that making self-care, and more specifically mindfulness, part of the mix is ESSENTIAL.
Teaching students, faculty and staff how to meditate is my personal mission because I TRULY BELIEVE meditation can help build STRENGTH + RESILIENCY needed to weather any challenge. We can all become better at dealing with stress, choosing how to respond and being okay with what is.
Who wants to feel stressed out and on edge all of the time? I believe there is a better way and I'm intent on helping people make it a reality. Taking care of you is the key to BEING BETTER on so many levels. The truth is, we can all thrive in higher education by feeling HAPPY + WELL on a daily basis, if we choose.
